Many mainstream experts urge you to steer clear of a ketogenic diet because they warn of the nausea, headache, dizziness and flat out misery that many people experience while following a keto diet. What these mainstream experts fail to mention is many of these symptoms are only temporary for most ketoers who experience them…and if you approach keto the right way, you may not even experience these symptoms at all!

These symptoms come along with what many refer to as the Keto Flu. They can typically occur within the first few weeks of the diet as your body switches over from burning it’s primary source of fuel of glucose to its new primary source of fuel of fat. As your body is making the switch, it can freak out since you’re losing electrolytes in mass and your body may think fuel is scarce when it’s no longer receiving the carbs it’s become accustomed to running on.

Overcoming Cravings – Part 2

Many find success on keto since once they get rid of the processed carbs they previously lived on and replace those processed foods with real food options that keep them satiated longer, so the constant hunger felt by many dieters and cravings simply vanish.

And while that’s a great happily ever after story, there are still many hopeful ketoers that go into keto hoping their cravings will vanish so they can get the same big results they keep hearing about, but a week or two into following keto, cravings take over and they find themselves head first in a greasy bag filled with burgers and an extra large fry. 

Today in Part 2 we’re going to explore why some people’s cravings vanish after a few days into the plan, while others struggle with keto since the bag of stale chips hidden in the back of your pantry keeps calling your name.

In this episode:

  • Keto is a plan that once you commit to it, you have to be committed
  • Your body looks at the overall progress – so it sums up the good choices and the bad choices, and that’s your result on your plan
  • It’s especially important to not cheat on a keto plan since it takes time for your body to learn how to run on fat for fuel
  • You may even gain weight with this pattern since too much fat throughout the week and too many carbs on the weekend can be a recipe for weight gain
